New Material ”TSC (Thermally Stable Composite)”

Many internal camera and lens mechanisms are designed and optimized to work with the product’s main structure by using the characteristics of metal and polycarbonate. For this lens, the new material “TSC (Thermally Stable Composite)” is used which has the same level of thermal shrinkage as aluminum and little contractility, especially in temperature changes. It also maintains superior firmness for the first time in the camera/lens industry. Since thermal shrinkage is low, it has a high affinity to metal parts which contributes to high quality product manufacturing. It also allows other mechanical parts such as the zoom ring and scaling can be made slimmer.

∗”TSC (Thermally Stable Composite)” Polycarbonate has same thermal shrinkage of Aluminum. As parts do not deform, high quality lens manufacturing is possible. Moreover, compared to polycarbonate, which contains 20% glass, TSC has approximately 70% higher elasticity compared to our company’s other products. Compared to polycarbonate which contains 30% glass, TSC has approximately 25% higher elasticity compared to our company’s other products.
