Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1969, Mr. Hagiwara graduated from the Department of Law in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shizuoka University and the Department of Photography at the Tokyo Polytechnic University. He got a job at Imai Studio and studied under the late photographer Mr. Yuichi Imai. He learned photography techniques related mainly to fashion. After becoming a freelance, Mr. Hagiwara mostly engaged in portrait photography for advertisements and magazines. Also as a lifework, he has been capturing daily lives of his local area, Shizuoka City, and actively photographing in Shizuoka Prefecture. Mr. Hagiwara is a member of Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS) and an adjunct instructor of Shizuoka Professional School of Design.
