Tim Matsui Tim Matsui Born in California in 1973, Tim grew up near the mountains outside of Seattle, WA. A graduate of the University of Washington, it wasn't until late in his studies that he decided to pursue photojournalism. A freelance photographer straight out of school, he now focuses on alternative energy, the environment and social issues. In his spare time he shoots rock climbing and mountaineering. He also founded the non-profit FEAR Project, a media production company documenting the lasting effects of sexual violence on communities.
